Hi Guys,

I noticed (and have heard from some of you) that the comments aren’t working.  I’m looking into it, now that we are back in Phoenix and have some time to spare.  Just so you know, I DO GET THE COMMENT emailed to me if you post it, but it doesn’t save it on the site.  So thank you for everyone who has commented already.  I’m working on making sure your comments get saved so everyone can see them.

We are having a great time, and I have a bunch more stuff to post.

Jason

Our last morning at Glen Eyrie, we woke to find the entire area covered in a fine mist / fog.  I went out and took some photos, and this video.  As soon as I stepped out on the patio, I felt like I had stepped into a real-life version of the old game Myst (which I loved as a kid).  For any of you that played it, am I right or what?

The car drove smoothly, and on the clean straight desert roads we were able to stick at around 90mph the whole trip.  It was occassionally fun to reach 100 (which my car at home will never be able to do).

The next morning we left at 4 a.m. (again!) for the 12 hr drive to Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs.  It was Phoenix time, so it felt like 6 a.m. to us.  Plus, I was still in function-mode, so it was good to get the longest drive out of the way first.

We grilled out for dinner.  The grill quit half way through cooking.  And even though Uncle Peter and PJ broke out the toolbox, it couldn’t be fixed right away.  So we finished cooking inside.  I think U. Peter was inside using an electric pancake griddle for the next hour.  But it all worked out and the food and company were great.
